MS Football Week -1

We have great looking bunch of middle school kids playing football this year. I have head great reports from the MS coaches.

Theme: Building a Foundation

Schedule

• Monday, Aug 15-Practice from 4:00 to 6:00pm (Full Pads)
• Tuesday, Aug 16- Practice from 3:50 to 6:00pm (Full Pads)
• Wednesday, Aug 17-Practice from 3:50 to 5:30 (Full Pads) Parent Meeting at 5:15 in the Grandstand
• Thursday, Aug 18-Practice from 3:50 to 5:30 (Full Pads)
• No Practice Friday, Aug 19-Blue and White Night 5:30 to 8pm

*Practice attire may change so players should always have a pair of shorts with them.

Parent Meetings
We will have a football parent meeting in the grandstand at 5:15 on Wednesday, August 17. Please make it a priority for at least one parent to attend. We give out a lot of information and if everyone is present it really saves the coaching staff time in the future. The school wide Parents of Athletes Meeting will be on Monday, August 22 at 7pm. This is a required meeting that will include a presentation from Jim Ater with Proactive Coaching on the role of parents in athletics. As a parent you will not want to miss this event.

Forms
We have almost every physical but are missing other forms. All the forms (handbook player and parent signature, transportation waiver, and TAPPS acknowledgement of the rules) can be found at: www.cypresschristian.org/athletics/Forms.cfm. We need these all turned in as soon as possible to Cindy Wilhite in the Athletic Department.

Season Tickets, Football Booster Club, and Sponsorship Opportunities
As a football parent you get first choice on season tickets if you purchase them prior to Blue and White Night. These tickets are good for all home football games. Seats will be sold on a first come first serve basis starting at Blue and White Night. The money raised through season tickets, booster club memberships and sponsorships is used to pay for a lot of the great things we do as a football program. The things that are supported by the booster club are so important to me that I personally join the Coach's Club each year. You are certainly not required to join but for those with the ability it is a great way to help our program. For more details visit www.cypresschristian.org/football/Support.cfm.

Blue and White Night
The football team will be introduced at Blue and White Night. We are also responsible for helping take down tables and take out trash at the end of the night. This is a great event and always a lot of fun so please make plans to attend. If you want dinner you need to register ahead of time at www.CypressChristian.org/Athletics/Blue-and-White-Night.cfm.

Practice Clothing Additional Order
This week your son will receive a pair of shorts and a shirt. They will be required to wear those for certain practices, team functions and possibly when we travel. If they would like an additional set or if another member of your family would like an additional set I will be placing a second order on Monday, August 22. Please send me the shirt and/or short size (they can be purchased individually) by Sunday, August 21. The shorts are $15 and the shirts $10.

Movie Shoot-Live For Today
Next week there will be scenes from an independent movie being shot in our Stadium. The filming will take place on Wednesday through Friday from around 9 pm until midnight or later. There will be a need for extras from players to fans in the stands on Friday night. If you are interested you can just stay after Blue and White Night and join in the fun.
