At 2PM parents will have an opportunity to have a questions and answer session with the college coaches about their university, football program and recruiting process. Second Scrimmage Set

The Warrior's will host Fort Bend Baptist Academy on August 21st in the second scrimmage of the 2009 season. It will be your first opportunity to sit in a stadium chair and watch the warriors in action. You will soon have the opportunity to purchase those season tickets and join the booster club online as the full version of www.cypresschristianfootball.org goes live. Joining the football booster club today helps us plan for the season and guarantees that you get the coach's shirts that are part of a football booster club membership in time for the season opener on August 28. Just 65 days and counting.

Ready for Concrete

The footings for the grandstand are ready to be poured and there is just 70 days until the first kickoff of the season. We continue to have good numbers and a lot of good work getting done at the summer strength and conditioning workouts.
I am very excited to see how we have Closed the Gap when we get to August.

Snook Blue Jays added to schedule

We have added Snook to our schedule on Week 10 (October 30 at 7:30). They are a public school just outside of College Station and are in their second year of football. They also play Brazos Christian and Bryan St. Joe who were both on our schedule last season. I am excited to add a public school and hope we can find ways to give them a positive experience coming to CCS.

John Brown signs with Dordt College

John Brown has accepted a scholarship and signed with Dordt College to play football in the fall. Dordt is an NAIA school located in Sioux Center Iowa. I believe it is a program and school that holds the same values as CCS and this is a great opportunity for John to study engineering and play football. I am very excited for both John and his family.

For more information and to read the headline from Dordt College please follow the links.

Grandstand Footings Surveyed

The footings for the Grandstand have been surveyed and the big day is fast approaching. The footings should be in place by the end of next week with the grandstand arriving in early July. I hope this makes you want to join the booster club or at least be ready to purchase season tickets. You will be able to purchase season tickets online when the new website goes live in a couple of weeks. No matter what you are going to have a great seat for all the action on Friday nights this fall.

Gatti's Pizza to Sponsor Warrior Football

Warrior football will soon have an official pizza and our first sponsor to sign on for the 2009 season. I hope you support Gatti's all year round. Our concession stand will sell Gatti's pizza for all home games and we will have Gatti's pizza at our special events. I am working hard to make sure this is the first of many great sponsors to join on for the 2009 season. Maybe your company could be one. If you are interested or would just like to help me in the process of lining up sponsors please let me know.

One Week Down

We have finished our first week of the summer strength and conditioning program with what I believe is record attendance in the history of Cypress Christian Football. We will spend one more week in the base phase of our workouts before moving to the strength phase.

We will continue with 7 on 7 this coming Tuesday at 5PM. I want to encourage everyone to come out to 7 on 7, it is not just for QBs and Receivers.

Our Cypress Christian Football Mini Camp is just three weeks away. This is a great opportunity for players and parents to get a feel for college football by meeting with coaches from Taylor University and Greenville College. Please fill out the registration form and turn it in to Coach Martin or bring it to a summer workout. This camp is open to all HS football players so have your son invite his friends.

The website is getting close to being ready to go live. Please turn in your player profiles as soon as possible if you have not already.

Coach Spenn

First Day of Strength and Conditioning

We had a great first day of summer work outs with other 30 players participating, nearly double the number of players we had on the team just 2 years ago. I was encouraged to hear how hard everyone was working. The afternoon is certainly less crowded than the morning, but as we learn to be efficient and prepared to lift you will be amazed at what we can get done in two hours. Your new offense will require that we be efficient, well prepared and in shape. I look forward to a bigger, faster, stronger and more determined football team in the fall. Tomorrow we will be on the field for 7 on 7 at 5PM.

In Christ,

Coach Spenn
